As we enter two months of lockdown, the 2020 iteration of Young Critics, has been deeply affected by the COVID19 pandemic.
By now our 16 Young Critics would usually be seeing productions and talking about them online.
In an effort to share the Young Critics experience with our readers we are running a selection of their initial reviews.
These reviews were submitted as part of their Young Critics application. As such, they represent the first steps on their Young Critics journey. We hope you enjoy them.
Our latest video submission is from Caitlyn Morrissey. Back in December, she saw a school production of South Pacific at the National Opera House in Wexford.
Caitlyn Morrissey is a member of County Wexford Youth Theatre and a Youth Theatre Ireland Young Critic for 2020
Caitlyn has been a member of County Wexford Youth Theatre for three years. During this time she has performed in two plays; ‘Rate Me’ written by Marnie McCleane-Fay in October 2018 and, more recently, ‘Brainstorm’ last December. In June 2018, Caitlyn travelled to London with her youth theatre and took part in two workshops in Pineapple Studios. Caitlyn has a strong interest in videography and is looking forward to learning what critics look out for in shows, meeting new people and seeing a number of shows.
